With the new church computer database application,
Daylight Explorer
from Daylight Research, you can organize
all your church's data. In it, you will
find a module for your church organization, your ministries,
your equipment and your library as well as special
modules for pledging, contributions and scheduling.
You also get a complete toolbox of essential administrative
utilities that give you the ability to back up
and restore your database,
create custom fields, archive your data and run pre-packaged
queries on your database and more. With
the Desktop and Network
editions, you also get the ability to author your own
queries as well as create professional-looking data entry
forms for your church members.
All of your data is presented to you in the same
explorer
format that you are already accustomed to working with in Windows.
For example, when you start Daylight Explorer and click the
Organize button, you are
presented with a graphical representation of your church
with every component placed in it's natural order. If you
want to add a member to a sunday school class or church
committee, you just drag his or her record into the proper
node. You can do it in five seconds and there is no typing.
All editions of Daylight Explorer, including the
free
Daylight Express edition, ship with a professional
grade library module complete with full reservation
capabilities.
Daylight Explorer lets you separately catalog your audio tapes,
books, CDs, DVDs, periodicals, sheet music and special
documents. When you check an item out, you just drag your
patron's record from the right-hand pane of your computer
screen into the Borrowers
node under your library item and everything is taken care of.
Reserving an item works the same way. You can check an item in,
check it out or reserve it with no typing.
You can't buy it just yet but you can get the full version
free
by applying to our beta testing program.
Daylight Explorer is in the final stage of development called
the beta testing phase. The
beta testing phase helps to insure that when Daylight Explorer
is released to the commercial market (expected release date is
fall 2008), it will be as reliable as it can be.
If you are a church, you are eligible to participate in our
beta testing program. In return for your participation, your
church will receive a license for the full version of Daylight
Explorer free of charge.
